Step   Annual Maintenance Activity
3-7  Test fabric with Maule tester
3-8  Inspect inside of rear fuselage for “critters”, cable problems, and broken longerons
 
Part 4  Wheels and Landing Gear
4-1  Inspect and grease tailwheel, check springs and safety wires
4-2  Use engine hoist to unload one main wheel; tie opposite wheel to substantial weight to hold on ground                                             
4-3  Remove wheel; inspect the brake system for wear
4-4  Inspect and repack (grease) wheel bearings
4-5  Check tire condition and pressure; check valve condition (cracks, bending)
4-6
 Remove landing gear (oleo system); check bolts for corrosion and wear
4-7
 Drain and flush oleo; replace oil with air tool oil; refurbish as needed

4-8  Reinstall gear, brakes, wheels, and wheel cover
4-9  Grease oleo strut
4-10  Repeat for opposite wheel (steps 4-2 to 4-9)
4-11  Inspect and tighten mechanical brake cables
 4-12  Inspect and adjust parking brake linkage and cable
 
Part 5  Overall Condition Inspection and Maintenance
5-1  Check fabric condition, especially wing tips and hangar rash
